Multiple Paint Medium

Pebeo

Ogden Blue carries the largest selection of Pebeo oil, acrylic, and watercolor paints in Utah. These high quality, brilliant palettes from France are sold in two varieties. The first variety is the Fragonard professional grade paints or mixable raw pigments, which are a boon to the professional artist looking for the utmost in control over the paint color. These pigments can be mixed in a variety of media depending on the use that suits your needs. Pre-mixed colors tend to be high in pigment (which means you use less paint) and slightly higher viscosity. They are also timed to dry within 2-3 days and at the same time due to a special formulation. This provides a great advantage to the artist as all the paint will be in the same stage of drying, producing a uniformity of color saturation throughout the painting. This extremely important part of the process is why our Fragonard line has been growing in popularity over the last five years. We carry acrylics as well from Pebeo. These are some of the highest quality and most brilliant pigments that we have found in a paint. Many of our professional artists have been pleasantly surprised by the depth of color and the "just-right" viscosity of the Pebeo acrylic line. The second variety is the studio line for an economical way to paint for students, hobbyists, and artists who are testing different concepts.

Grumbacher

Ogden Blue carries pre-tested oil and academy watercolor from Grumbacher, who is America's leading producer of artist's paints for over 80 years. The Pre-tested oil is a popular professional grade oil paint that is a good mix of high adhesion, high pigment content, and archival permanence. The Academy watercolors are studio grade watercolors that have been the best-selling watercolors in the United States for the last 60 years. It is of such good quality that it is also used by professionals because of the high pigment content producing vibrant color washes. It also offers a slightly more economical price which puts it in reach of the studio artist looking to purchase the highest quality at the lowest price.

The Cotman Watercolors are studio grade for nearly professional grade brilliance at an economical price that will suit any budget.
We also carry a very high variety of mediums and paint thinners and mixers from linseed oil and many varieties of Liquin to varnishes and mineral spirits.

M. Graham & Co.

M. Graham Oils are professional grade oil. The colors are rich and saturated, with the highest possible mass tone and tinting strength. They are made with walnut oil as the binder, which flows more freely, has less tendency to crack or yellow compared to linseed oil. An artist may have to allow a bit more drying time for these oils as walnut oil is very slow to dry.
The gouache paints are opaque watercolors that are dense, rich, and highly pigmented. These professional grade paints are bound with gum arabic and mixed with honey to prevent cracking. The Artists' Watercolors from M. Graham are wonderful professional grade watercolors that mix well across the same color palette with the gouach line. Use the gouache for creating opaque areas while the watercolors provide the translucent brilliance that watercolors are known for.
